Khartoum Basin, central Sudan. Awad (1994) included this as a Member within the Gezira Fm with AAF-4 is chosen as type well.

Lithology and Thickness
"It consists predominantly of sand and clay interbeds, and occasional limestone and tuffaceous material. The claystones are varicoloured, predominantly light grey to reddish brown and silty. The sandstones are loose, coarse- to medium-grained and moderately sorted. Occasional stringers of siltstone and/or fine- to very fine-grained sandstones may be present. The tuffaceous claystones occur near the top of the member. Its thickness attains nearly 190 m in the AAF-4 well." (Awad, 1994)
